Data Scientist | AI & Automation

I started as an engineer. Then data stole my heart.

Turns out the hardest problems need both.

Not your typical data story.

I'm Yasi. Engineer by origin, data scientist by a happy accident.

I started out studying materials engineering — the kind where you think about how things are built, why they fail, and what makes them last. Somewhere along the way I stumbled into data science, and something just clicked. I enrolled in a Master's at UTS almost on a whim, ended up graduating with a 6.94/7 GPA, and haven't looked back since.

These days I spend my time building things that help people see clearly — automated pipelines that surface problems before anyone noticed they existed, ML models that assist real clinical decisions, dashboards that turn noise into something you can actually act on.

The engineering brain never switched off. It just found better problems to chew on. Coming from a different background isn't a detour — it's the whole point.
